Curtain Length Guide

63-Inch (Cafe / Sill Length)

Cafe curtains hang to the window sill or just below. They are ideal for kitchen windows, bathrooms, and any window where you want light and privacy without blocking the view. They work best on smaller windows where floor-length curtains would look overwhelming.

84-Inch (Standard)

The most common curtain length, 84 inches works for standard windows in rooms with 8-foot ceilings when the rod is mounted at the window frame. This is the go-to length for bedrooms and living rooms with average-height windows.

95-Inch (Floor Length)

Floor-length curtains in 95 inches are designed for rooms with standard 8-foot ceilings when the rod is mounted 4 to 6 inches above the window frame. They should hang about half an inch above the floor for a clean, tailored look.

108-Inch (Extra Long)

Extra-long 108-inch curtains suit rooms with 9 to 10-foot ceilings or high-mounted rods. They create a dramatic, elegant look. These are also the right choice if you want a puddle effect where the fabric pools slightly on the floor.

Curtain Width Tips

Each panel width listed above is for a single curtain panel. Most windows need two panels (one for each side). For proper fullness, your total curtain width should be 1.5 to 3 times the width of your curtain rod. For example, a 60-inch rod needs 90 to 180 inches of total curtain width, which you can achieve with two 52-inch panels (104 inches total for a light gather) or two wider panels for a fuller look.
